Meeting with the Ministers of Environment of the Kingdom of Netherland and the Republic of Moldova

Within the framework of Eighth Environment for Europe Ministerial Conference, Mr. Gigla Agulashvili, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia together with Mr. Christian Friis Bach, Executive Secretary of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, held a meeting with the Ministers of Environment of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Republic of Moldova.
Mr. Agulashvili expressed his gratitude toward UNECE and the Kingdom of Netherlands for the cooperation in the field of environmental protection and emphasized the specific activities of the Ministry in its effort to address key environmental challenges
The Minister underlined the projects that are implemented with the support of the European Union, UNECE, and other partners, in particular, Environmental Assessment Code has been elaborated and will highly promote to Green Economy and Sustainable Development of the country. Georgia has shared the experience of European Union in strategic environmental assessment.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Maia Bitadze, Deputy Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia and Mr. Georges Kremlis, Head of the "Cohesion Policy and Environmental Impact Assessments" Unit in the Directorate General for the Environment of the European Commission.
